Following a Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Mumbai University, I earned my Ph.D. from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. As a graduate student and researcher, I gained a deep understanding of the checks and balances in cellular functioning and how dysregulation can lead to disease, particularly cancer. Following my post-doctoral work at the University of Chicago and a research position at Northwestern University, I entered the world of healthcare communication.

I started sharing my understanding of disease states, their treatment, and the complicated healthcare system in the United States by writing about clinical studies, reporting on the drug development process, and unraveling the web of healthcare coverage and payment models. This offered me the opportunity to interact with diverse healthcare stakeholders and made me realize the value I could bring to non-profit organizations that assist patients and their families face some of life’s toughest moments.
